Please Help My Daughter Fight Liver Cancer! My name is Cyron Ledesma. My family lives in Bacolod City, Philippines. I was blessed with a daughter last May 26, 2021. My daughter, Akiane, has been growing up well, lively and active. However when she was 8 months-old, my wife and I noticed a big lump on her stomach. Concerned, we went immediately to a doctor to get it checked. A series of tests were ordered including ultrasound, CTScan and blood testing. The results had shocked us and had left us heartbroken and helpless. My 8 months old daughter, is suffering from Hepablastoma, a rare type of liver cancer, that mostly affects only 1 in 1 million children. The CT Scan results confirmed our worst fears - the 7cm tumor seen on the ultrasound is indeed a Hepablastoma. We are devastated and lost. My daughter is only 8 months old! I have never cried so hard in my entire life. Right now, our doctor ordered a biopsy to stage the cancer, but that alone is costing already around P50,000 pesos. We used up all our money already and whatever savings we have for the laboratory and testing. Our doctor said that we need to get moving fast so we can start the treatment protocol for a higher chances of survival for our baby girl. We decided to start chemo therapy for 6th cycle so the tumor will shrink and she can have her operation and remove the left side of her liver. Now she is on her 4th cycle chemo treatment and scheduled on September for her liver operation. We are asking prayers and financial support especially, as the treatment will require at least Php300,000 for the operation. Me and my wife left our work because every week, we have a chemo therapy and need to be admitted, we are asking to those who have extra financially to share with our baby to finish her medication, cancer free and live a normal life like other babies in her age.
